LANGFORD

The district of Langford is part of the Westshore region and is comprised of the municipal City of Langford, which is subdivided into 17 neighbourhoods. Langford offers a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, camping, and fishing. The area has a large number of lakes and parks, such as Thetis Lake, Langford Lake, Glen Lake, Florence Lake, and Goldstream Park. Goldstream Park is also known for its annual salmon spawn, and it features a provincial campground. In addition, Langford includes the Olympic View and Bear Mountain developments, which have golf courses, a hotel, spa, and residential housing. If you are interested in arts and culture, you can visit The Langford Station, an arts and culture district located in the heart of downtown Langford. The area features local artists, retailers, food trucks, and live music events, and its retailers and artist studios are open year-round from Thursday to Sunday. 

 

  • METCHOSIN

    Metchosin is a rural community in the Westshore region of British Columbia, Canada. The district of Metchosin corresponds to the municipal District of Metchosin and is subdivided into 8 neighbourhoods. Metchosin offers a variety of outdoor activities such as horseback riding, nature trails and parks, and numerous golf courses. The district is home to Matheson Lake, a popular spot for swimming and hiking, and Witty's Lagoon, an oceanfront area for various sports and relaxation. Pedder Bay is also known for its fishing, while Pearson College, located in Metchosin, attracts students from all over the world.

  • COLWOOD

    The district of Colwood, part of the Westshore region, corresponds to the municipal City of Colwood and is sub-divided into 12 neighbourhoods.  

    Colwood offers a variety of recreational pursuits. The Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre for example is considered to be one of the most complete sport complexes in the province. For the golf enthusiast, there are the Royal Colwood and Olympic View golf courses as well as the nine hole Juan de Fuca course. The area offers a nature reserve as well as a beach for sun tanning, swimming, windsurfing, sailing and walking. Views of downtown and of the American coast over the Strait of Juan de Fuca are also enjoyed by visitors and residents. Colwood is also home to Royal Roads University.

     

  • SOOKE 

    Sooke, a district in the Westshore region, encompasses the municipal District of Sooke along with undeveloped areas towards the west and north. This district is further divided into 21 neighborhoods. Sooke is a nature lover's paradise and offers various recreational activities that reflect the district's natural surroundings. The district provides excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, and horseback riding. With an abundance of lakes, parks, and nature trails like the Galloping Goose park, East Sooke Park, Sooke Pot Holes, Sooke Harbor, the world-renowned West Coast and Juan de Fuca Trails, and Botanical Beach at Port Renfrew, you can enjoy various outdoor activities. Sooke is also famous for its surfing and whale watching activities, making it an ideal destination for adventure enthusiasts.
