Victoria, located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, is Western Canada's oldest city and the capital of British Columbia. The Inner Harbour is the heart of Victoria, with the Fairmont Empress hotel, the world-renowned Royal British Columbia Museum, and the BC Parliament Buildings bordering the harbor. VICTORIA WEST
The district of Victoria West, also known as "Vic West," is located on the west side of the Victoria harbor and is part of the Core region. It offers a variety of housing options including traditional residential, multi-family housing, and innovative commercial developments such as the Dockside Green sustainable development project which was built on former industrial land. The neighbourhood covers approximately 158 hectares (390 acres) and has a population of approximately 6,805 people, which is about 9% of Victoria's total population. The neighbourhood is divided into two areas.
